Catching Up with Truck World: Australia – Devlog #0 Recap

Hey there, fellow truck sim enthusiasts! I’m Arrow, and as a die-hard fan of trucking games, I’m beyond excited to kick off a new blog series diving into the development of Truck World: Australia. This game has been on my radar for a while, and I’m thrilled to share its journey with you, starting from the very first devlog posted by the Truck World Team on January 31, 2021. In this series, I’ll be catching up with each devlog in the order they were released, reliving the excitement and anticipation as the developers shared their vision for this Aussie trucking adventure. Let’s hit the road and dive into Devlog #0!

Back in January 2021, the Truck World Team dropped their first official update, and it was a warm welcome to the growing community of truck sim fans like us. They expressed genuine excitement about the interest in Truck World: Australia and announced their plan to keep us in the loop with regular progress updates. For a game that promises to let us haul cargo across the vast and stunning landscapes of Australia, this was music to my ears. The idea of cruising through the Outback, navigating coastal highways, or tackling remote dirt tracks in a massive rig had me hooked from the start.

What really stood out in this initial devlog was the team’s commitment to involving the community in the game’s development. They didn’t just want to make a game for us—they wanted to make it with us. To that end, they shared a link to a short survey (just three questions!) to gather feedback from players. This move showed how serious they were about crafting a game that aligns with what truck sim fans want. Whether it’s realistic driving mechanics, authentic Australian scenery, or a deep economic system, they wanted to know what matters most to us.

As a truck sim enthusiast, I love this approach. It’s one thing to play a game, but it’s another to feel like your voice could shape it. Back in 2021, I can imagine fans eagerly filling out that survey, dreaming of the perfect trucking experience Down Under. The devlog’s call to action was simple but powerful: they wanted us to be part of the journey, and that set the tone for what’s to come.

This first devlog was short but packed with promise. The Truck World Team signed off with a friendly “See you in the near future!” and pointed us to ways to stay connected, like following their updates for Truck World: Australia. At the time, the game was still listed as “Coming soon,” and while we didn’t get specific details about features or release dates, the enthusiasm was contagious. It felt like the start of something big.

As I revisit this devlog in 2025, I’m excited to continue this series, catching up with each update to see how Truck World: Australia evolved from this initial spark. What did the community ask for in that survey? How did the developers bring Australia’s rugged beauty to life? I’ll be diving into the next devlog soon to find out. Until then, let me know in the comments what you’re hoping to see in Truck World: Australia—are you craving realistic road trains, dynamic weather, or maybe some iconic Aussie landmarks? Let’s keep the conversation rolling!

Safe travels, truckers!
