My Take on SCS Software’s Iceland Ring Road Update for Euro Truck Simulator 2

Hey there, fellow truckers! It’s me, Arrow, and I’m super excited to dive into the latest blog post from SCS Software about the upcoming Iceland DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. They’ve shared some awesome details about Route 1, better known as the Ring Road, and I can’t wait to hit this virtual highway. Let’s break it down in my own words!

SCS Software is putting a lot of love into making the Ring Road the star of the Iceland DLC. This road loops around the entire island and is basically the lifeline of Iceland’s transport system. For us players, it’s going to be the go-to route whether we’re hauling cargo across the country or just soaking in the sights. And trust me, the sights sound incredible! Imagine cruising past the stunning Seljalandsfoss waterfall, rolling through the quaint coastal village of Vík, or catching a glimpse of the icy Jökulsárlón lagoon. Then there’s the dramatic Eastern Fjords and the volcanic vibes around Lake Mývatn. Rivers, lakes, valleys—you name it, this road’s got it all. It’s like a postcard around every corner!

But it’s not just about the eye candy. The Ring Road is a showcase of Iceland’s infrastructure, with tons of bridges and even an undersea tunnel. That’s some serious engineering to connect all those remote communities across crazy terrain. I’m already geeking out about navigating those unique features in-game. While there’ll be some detours and smaller roads, especially in the south-west, SCS says Route 1 is the heart of pretty much every journey in this DLC. It’s the main artery for all our trucking adventures, and I’m pumped to explore every mile of it.

The Iceland DLC is still in the works, so there’s more to come, but this sneak peek has me hyped. If you’re as excited as I am, make sure to add the Iceland DLC to your Steam wishlist to show SCS some love. Oh, and don’t forget to follow them on their socials—as well as ours, to stay in the loop. Until we get more updates, keep your wheels spinning and keep on trucking!
