Cruising Iowa: A Look Back at an Epic Journey
SCS Software set two ambitious goals for us truckers. The community challenge was to collectively haul cargo across 125,000,000 miles (201,168,000 km) to or from cities in the Hawkeye State. Thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of players worldwide, we didn’t just meet this goal—we surpassed it by the end of August, well ahead of schedule! By the event’s conclusion, we collectively logged a staggering 138,480,798 miles (222,863,241 km). That’s a testament to the unstoppable spirit of our trucking community.
On the personal side, the challenge was to deliver cargo to or from 12 unique Iowa cities, with each delivery spanning at least 100 miles (161 km). The result? An impressive 433,189 deliveries were completed, with 27,962 truckers earning the exclusive Golden Flight ATS paint job and the Porcelain Wild Rose hanging ornament for their Steam inventory. If you’re one of those who claimed these rewards, give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back!
Even for those who didn’t complete the event, exploring the beautifully crafted Iowa DLC was a journey in itself. From the rolling plains to vibrant cities, every mile offered a chance to soak in the experience and connect with fellow truckers. As SCS Software reminds us, it’s not just about reaching the destination—it’s about the roads we travel and the stories we share along the way.
