Exploring Denmark’s New Roads in Euro Truck Simulator 2: Scandinavia Refresh Update

I just finished reading the latest blog post from SCS Software about their ongoing Scandinavia Refresh project for Euro Truck Simulator 2, and I’m super excited to share the details with you all! They’ve dropped some awesome updates about new routes in Denmark, and as someone who loves cruising through the virtual highways, I can’t wait to dive into these additions. Let’s break it down!

SCS Software is bringing us Motorway 16 (Hillerødmotorvejen) and Road 26 (Primærrute 26), which open up a fresh inland route across Denmark. These new roads aren’t just about getting from point A to point B—they’re packed with gorgeous landscapes, cool settlements, and iconic landmarks that make every drive feel alive. Plus, they’ve added two new gas stations to keep our trucks fueled up and ready for the long haul.

One of the highlights they mentioned is the road through Viborg, where you’ll find one of those new gas stations. Viborg sounds like the perfect pit stop, whether you’re doing a quick delivery or a cross-country trek. I love how SCS is weaving in these practical details to make the game feel so immersive.

As you head west, you’ll pass near the town of Skive. The blog post pointed out something super cool for those of us who love spotting little details: four of the “11 Stars of Skive” sculptures are visible along the route. These are TorvetTegnetVestenvinden, and Kraka. I’m already looking forward to keeping an eye out for these artistic touches—they really add that extra layer of local charm to the drive.

Further along, the route takes you to V. Vilsund, home to the second new gas station and the stunning Vilsundbroen bridge. In real life, this is a drawbridge that opens for ships, but in the game, it’s a fixed landmark. Even so, SCS has done an amazing job bringing this regional icon to life, and I can’t wait to cross it in my truck.

What I love most about this update is how it shows SCS Software’s commitment to making the Scandinavia DLC even better. These new roads and details make every journey feel more authentic and diverse, which is exactly what keeps me coming back to Euro Truck Simulator 2. They’re not stopping here either—they teased more updates for the Scandinavia Refresh project, so there’s plenty to look forward to.

If you’re as hyped as I am, make sure to follow SCS Software on their socials, as well as ours. For now, I’m ready to hit the road and explore Denmark’s newest routes. Let me know in the comments what you think about this update or if you’ve got any favorite spots in the Scandinavia DLC! Keep on trucking, everyone!
